Buildings and Grounds Committee

Trinity Church owns three properties, the church proper, and two adjacent houses for clergy, one on Milwaukee Avenue and one on Church Street.

The Buildings and Grounds committee is responsible for oversight of the maintenance of these properties and the grounds surrounding them, as well as the parking lot and the grounds surrounding it and the church.

The organization and function of the committee can be summarized as follows:

  • Junior Warden is liaison to the vestry, serves on the committee and may or may not be chairperson. The committee could use a Chair person - The Junior Warden is currently acting Chair

  • Monthly meetings of 1-1 1/2 hours

  • Establish an annual budget to present to the vestry and congregation for approval

  • Identify priorities for current and future maintenance needs of the church and houses

  • Obtain bids for projects, contracts, and equipment necessary for care of the properties. (for example, snow removal, heating and cooling systems, etc.)

  • Recruit, organize, and oversee 2 (or more as needed) work days per year where parishioners volunteer to help with grounds clean-up, painting, interior cleaning, and other tasks

  • Identify professionals and skilled craftsmen within our congregation able and willing to help with more complex projects
Current members include: Chris Jeske, Dick Daas, Gail Mahoney, Ann Brophy, and Les Lynch. New members are always welcome. Contact Junior Warden Ann Brophy for further information at 414-257-1740 or by e-mail at jrwarden@trinitywauwatosa.org .

Trinity welcomes use of our building and facilities by groups both inside and outside the church, so long as such uses are not inconsistent with the ministry and mission of the parish. Use is subject to approval by the Rector and Vestry, and must follow the guidelines listed in the Trinity Facility Use Policy, a copy of which may be found here.
