Annual Parish Picnic Sunday, July 20th!
This year the Parish Picnic will once again be graciously hosted by the Oesterlings in their Brookfield home. The date is set for Sunday, July 20, 2008. As always, a service will be held to begin the picnic (hopefully outdoors!), but regular morning services at Trinity will also be held. Watch for signups for food and other picnic planning in the weeks ahead and don't miss this wonderful annual Trinity event! Haven't been to one? Look for pictures here, by selecting "Summer Picnic 2007" in the pull-down menu, and see what you've been missing.

Video: The Archbishop of Canterbury speaks on the upcoming Lambeth Conference
One of the global Anglican Communion's Instruments of Communion, the Lambeth Conference takes place every ten years at the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury. It is the one occasion when all bishops of the world-wide Anglican Communion can meet for worship, study and conversation. In a video posted to YouTube, the Archbishop of Canterbury talks about the upcoming conference, it's structure and goals, and shares his hopes for what will happen there. See the video here, and visit the Lambeth Conference website for more information on the conference and related information. In his video, Archbishop Williams talks about the small bible study groups that will be looking together at the I AM statements made by Jesus in John's gospel. He suggests that all anglicans consider working through this material as well as a way of connecting spiritually with the work that will be done at the conference. One of the books recommended for pre-Conference reading is the new People's Bible Commentary on St John's Gospel by Richard Burridge. Copies can be ordered via the Bible Reading Fellowship.
