Jen Vettrus, Lay Assistant for Ministry Development

Jen began her ministry at Trinity Church in the Summer of 2007. She has a B.S. in elementary education from Millikin University in Decatur, IL, and a minor in music. She has also completed some Master level coursework at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Since 1998 she has mentored college students at UW-Milwaukee and around the state with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She directs urban mission projects in Milwaukee with students, bringing them into Milwaukee's inner city learn about urban issues and serve as volunteers.
At Trinity she is working to design and implement a ministry of hospitality for newcomers, develop programs for young adults and give support to the youth community. She also serves on the outreach committee as she loves to be a part of the process of getting the church involved in serving the poor.
Jen thrives on learning new things and has numerous hobbies and interests. Lately she has spent her free time reading, knitting, trying to become an expert on wine and day-dreaming of running away to Ireland. She lives in the Sherman Park area with her husband Chris and Eddie, a beagle/coon-hound mix.
