Spread, O spread, thou mighty word, spread the kingdom of the Lord,That to earth's remotest bound all may heed the joyful sound. (The Hymnal, #530)
The longest season of the Church year begins in late spring. Known as “The Sundays after Pentecost”, “Ordinary Time”, or simply “The Green Season” (after the color of the vestments worn by clergy on these Sundays), this string of 20+ Sundays offers us the opportunity to reflect on the many ways the Good News of the Gospel is lived out in ordinary, everyday lives.
In a culture that seems to hurdle from one “major event” to the next, with little time taken for reflection, this longest season of the Church year reminds us that God is present in the ebbs and flows of life – whether we are on our jobs, in our neighborhoods and schools, or with our families. The kingdom of God germinates, sprouts and spreads, in all sorts of ways – when we're paying attention and when we are distracted by challenges and difficulties. “Ordinary” doesn't mean bland! This is a season for growth of all sorts! Come grow with us!
Trinity is a mid-sized parish: large enough to offer a range of opportunities and activities for all ages, yet small enough that people really get to know and care for one another. We offer education and formation opportunities for children, youth, and adults, and various groups within the parish fit many ages, needs and interests, including an active youth group and many outreach ministries. Worship ranges from casual and traditional Sunday morning services to more intimate weekday chapel services, and the occasional evening or other special opportunity. Everybody is welcome. Everybody has a place at the Lord's table. We hope you will use this site as a resource to learn more about us, and we look forward to meeting you in person and perhaps welcoming you as part of our community. If you need further information on our worship services or the many other ministries of Trinity Episcopal Church, please contact the church office via e-mail, or by calling 414-453-4540. We look forward to talking with you.
